VITAS provides hospice care services across 14 states and the District of Columbia. At VITAS, we provide hospice care above and beyond what people expect from end-of-life care. We are very pleased with the service provided by the facility and have no complaints regarding them. They have been really supportive and helped out in every which way possible. This has made our journey of taking care of my mom very easy. We would not be able to do this without the support and help of this agency.
However the urgent care nurses and customer service staff were awesome. They advocated, provided information and instructions which my family really needed. My father’s home nurse and aide were kind and caring.

Most of the time I have felt that when a family member want to talk to a doctor or nurse at other facilities, they seemed kind of annoyed and try to rush the conversation. When one of us would try to talk to a staff member at VITAS they would actually sit down with you and talk about anything you wanted. And when the conversation about the patient was over, they would often ask how the family was doing and if there was anything they could do for us or for my Aunt.
Since they haven't paid their bills, the hospital where my father was in put a hold on my father's estate. Second, Vitas hired outside agencies to manage patients. As for the services, if the caregivers came from Vitas itself, the service was good. But if the caregivers were from those outside agencies, the service wasn't satisfactory.

I wish I had more time to learn and give more input for the end of life for my mother. I felt grief with a sense of calm knowing I had made good choices with VITAS staff support. The hospice team considers all input—from the patient, family, caregiver, physicians and the medical evaluation—to develop each patient’s plan of care.
This was an excellent facility in every sense of the word. The majority of the staff is respectful, but we have encountered some that are rude and do not want to do the job for which they had been hired to do. The agency has according to them done all they can do but yet we still are not getting the aids to assist us at home.

THEY went above and beyond for my Grandmother. He never showed up to half of her appointments. He would just FaceTime us when it was convenient for him.
I wish that I had another option but I don't. But I think when they came into my life I was ready to make some changes with pain medication and things of such. And that was the main thing I wanted and they have not delivered on that in fact it's been destructive and dangerous what they've done. If it were me and then it was my family member I honestly would die to keep anyone from this place coming near my loved one.

The nurse at the assisted living where my father was recommended that we needed to call hospice in. She told me that it was a timely situation; that he was doing a lot worse and was declining very rapidly. So she came out and called in VITAS, and they were there within a couple of hours. The nurse from VITAS came in, and she immediately called in 24-hour service.
